  • You will coordinate and work on the financial aspects and processes of the R&D department, in order to achieve accurate forecasting, and to provide financial communication (reporting) to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning processes and challenge R&D Project data:
    • Obtain and challenge the resource & expense planning data, including project set up.
    • Analyse and explain the discrepancies/variances/risks/opportunities.
    • Help management and employees gain insight about the planning process, propose improvements, and maintain and promote the guidelines.
  • Collect and report planning financial data within the R&D department:
    • Consolidate the R&D financial planning for short-term and mid-term planning.
    • Consolidate and submit the monthly R&D forecasts.
    • Maintain & optimize resource planning in collaboration with HR.
  • Maintain and improve the planning IT models:
    • Continuous improvement of models and tooling related to financial information (including access rights).
    • Optimize the finance reporting (mainly Excel and Power BI, including use of database information).
  • Communication, alignment and collaboration:
    • Alignment with Finance Manager, Business Controller & Accountant for the monthly closing process.
    • Provide information to project leaders, purchase order requestors,…
    • Timely (monthly) project financial reporting for internal and external management review.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position with a proven track record (exemplary reports).
  • Outstanding IT skills on tools such as Excel, Power BI, MS Sharepoint, MS Teams, Confluence, including use of database information and its access rights.
  • Analytical skills to challenge the planning data, including sound financial knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize work having very strict deadlines on several competing tasks.
  • Used to quickly adapt to new situations and work autonomously with minimum guidance.
  • Basic understanding of the electronics technical tasks handled in Sony Depthsensing Solutions, a degree such as engineering, MBA,.. is a plus.
  • Very good knowledge of English is a prerequisite, including presentation skills.
  • Great cross-functional collaboration and relationship building skills.
