SOFTWARE ENGINEER (PYTHON)
Sony Depthsensing Solutions is a leader in 3D vision and gesture recognition technologies. The company, located in Belgium, delivers state-of-the-art solutions in the field of 3D sensing and processing, in particular for “natural interfaces”. These include CMOS 3D Sensors, 3D camera reference designs, SDKs, algorithms and applications for gesture recognition, object scanning, automotive control and AR/VR. For more than 10 years, DepthSense® solutions have been successfully used in the fields of automotive, interactive digital entertainment, consumer electronics, health care and other professional markets (such as digital signage and medical systems).
In this role you'll be responsible for the architecture and development of software tools mostly written in Python.
You’ll join a growing team responsible for software tools that enable a large cross-functional hardware R&D department to control, stream and evaluate Time-of-Flight (ToF) cameras. You will work side by side with R&D engineers to understand their needs and translate them into maintainable tools using your software engineering expertise. There are a lot of tools and therefore variety. You will also align regularly and sometimes visit with software engineers in Japan to ensure our tools converge.

Our ToF sensor and solutions are targeted at large consumer electronics, smartphone and automotive manufacturers.
- a computer science or engineering degree or equivalent experience
- experience in Python
- a pragmatic approach to software engineering, user-minded
- good communication skills
- ideally proven experience in delivering software projects
- ideally experience in R&D organization
- fluent knowledge of English
